Monika Navarro
Producer/Director/Co-Writer

ANIMAS PERDIDAS is Monika Navarro's first documentary film, funded in part by an Emerging Artist’s Grant from the City of Ventura Cultural Council for the Humanities. Monika is a first-generation Mexican-American and was raised in Southern California. She has traveled extensively in Mexico, and was awarded a scholarship in 2001 from the Mexico Solidarity Network to participate in a delegation to Chiapas, Mexico with the Chiapas Media Project. She received her BFA in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University in 2003. Recently she worked as the festival coordinator for the 2005 “Do It Your Damn Self!!” National Youth Video and Film Festival.

Linda Garmon
Co-Writer

Linda Garmon is a four-time Emmy Award-winning producer, writer and director of documentaries. With more than 20 years of experience, her work has been shown on several PBS series, such as NOVA and the AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, as well as on ABC. With a master's degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Garmon began her career writing for magazines and newspapers. But she quickly discovered her passion for documentaries. Garmon now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where, as a break from the rigors of filmmaking, she enjoys weekly instruction in the lindy hop - and hosting her Monthly Movie Club.

Susannah Ludwig
Co-Producer

Recognized as a "visionary independent producer," Susannah Ludwig was named the 2003 Mark Silverman Fellow by the Sundance Institute. Recently Ludwig produced Stolen (Independent Lens), a fascinating and outrageous story of the largest unsolved art heist in American history, which took place at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in 1990. Ms. Ludwig has been a major force in the realization of numerous critically acclaimed films including Our Song, directed by Jim McKay (released May 2001 by IFC Films), The Ballad of Ramblin Jack, (released by Lot 47 Films), Spring Forward starring Ned Beatty and Liev Schreiber (distributed by IFC Films) and La Ciudad, (recipient of the Open Palm Award at the Gotham Awards, Best Picture at the Havana Film Festival and distributed by Zeitgeist Films).

Jason Mann
Cinematographer/Co-Producer

Jason Mann is a cinematographer, writer and editor from Rockland, Maine. In addition to his work on ANIMAS PERDIDAS, he has worked as a key grip and gaffer on several independent films in Maine. Since 2007, Mann has worked as an editor at Compass Light, home of Discovery HD Theater's renowned series Sunrise Earth.

Sabrina Zanella-Foresi
Editor/Co-Producer

Sabrina Zanella-Foresi works primarily as an editor and producer on documentaries and narrative films. Her feature-length editing credits include: The Truth About Cancer, directed by Linda Garmon (WGBH, 2008); For the Love of Movies, directed by Gerald Peary (SXSW 2009); Shadow of the House: Photographer Abelardo Morell, directed by Allie Humenuk (2007); Twisted, directed by Laurel Chiten (Independent Lens, 2007); A Jew Among the Germans, directed by Marian Marzynski (Frontline, 2005); Damrell's Fire (PBS, 2005), American Wake (2004), and Touched (2003).

Jeremy Flower
Composer

Jeremy Flower graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music with a degree in Composition, where he studied with Michael Gandolfi and Caleb Morgan. Since moving the computer to the center of his creative focus, he has been an active participant in the underground electronic music worlds of Boston and New York. Jeremy is a member of Boston’s Unlockedgroove collective, one of the premier groups of techno producers on the East Coast. Recently he collaborated with Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov, with whom he worked on the Grammy-nominated Ayre and the one-act opera Ainadamar. Both of these works have been recorded for and released by Deutsche Grammophon.

Maria Grignolo
Assistant Editor

Maria Grignolo is a freelance assistant editor based in Boston. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Film & Television, she worked as a production assistant on several commercials and independent films. Maria recently worked as an Additional Editor on Sorry, Thanks (SXSW) and Garbage Dreams (SXSW) while training at The Edit Center in New York. Maria's work on ANIMAS PERDIDAS included cutting the trailer featured on the film's website.
